donation time – help Gene Colan

When I was young, moving from DC characters to Marvel, Gene Colan was one of the artists at Marvel that really impressed me: he was the first artist whose style I wanted to emulate. He drew two of my favorite 70s comics–Tomb of Dracula and Howard the Duck [two of my first complete runs of comic titles].

Unfortunately, Gene has liver failure and no pharmaceutical coverage for proper healthcare. As TCJ notes, you can send them directly using paypal to Gene’s email address genecolan@optonline.net. I’ve created a donation button over on the top right to make donating a little easier.

It’s a shame that there are people like Gene Colan, hard workers who don’t have the ability to provide for their own healthcare. Hopefully, that situation will change. Soon. In the meantime, let’s help Gene with what we can.
